Re: Anybody running Dunlop tires?

I,m rolling around on 25 year old Metzelers. They have no sidewall checking at all, and lots of tread. I Know...possibly not the best idea, but they have lots of life left. If I had a Harley with one of those Dunlops, I would not use it until that tire is replaced. That is bad situation!

Re: Ride'm while you can!

Their problems with air quality I cannot believe is due to the older motorcycles. Maybe they should think about all the coal they burn first?

Re: Handelbars.

I contacted Renthal and was informed that any modification including a scratch or punch mark can adversely affect the integrity of their bars and cause failure. They rely on surface hardening for strength and stiffness. I am worried about even a rock chip from a truck. I will be removing these bars ...

Re: Handelbars.

Beemerboff, sorry, You are correct. Renthal warns against this. I suspect even a small sloppy hole with burrs will cause a stress riser as their bars are heat treated and shot peened , I suspect. There are aluminum bars (Woodcraft) that you can drill small locating holes for controls and cut to leng...

Re: Rain Riding

Yes, visibility was the big issue. It is somewhat unnerving having so much trouble seeing. I had waterproof jacket also. I have been in rain for a lot longer without the right gear, but this time it was pouring so hard that it was tough. And naturally as soon as things start to get wet the fog comes...

Rain Riding

I got stuck in pouring rain last night. In retrospect, I would have been smart to sit it out for a half hour or so. Visibility was very poor.

I use nothing but synthetic oil for years. Never had a leak anywhere.

Re: Handelbars.

It is perfectly fine to cut and drill aluminum bars. Welding will destroy the heat treating and I would not do it. The steel adjustable bar is very cool and a great idea! :)

Re: Brake Lines

Smart move. Let us know how it worked out. I was thinking about getting lines and fittings from Summit Racing.
