Re: Autumn leaves rally -Oz Boxerworks
Hey Bob, it will be great to meet up again. I am not sure if I will make it to Anglers rest on the wednesday or meet up with everyone on thursday wherever everyone is. One of my best mates looks like he will come along on his SR500 that we built up from a box of parts over the last year and a half. ...

Re: Autumn leaves rally -Oz Boxerworks
Cheers Mal, I'd love to make it through Anglers Rest again but I'll have to see how timing and work and funds and everything else goes as to whether I can take that much time off. Are you staying at Anglers rest on the wednesday evening, or starting from there in the morning? Due to budgetary reason...

Re: Autumn leaves rally -Oz Boxerworks
I'm a strong contender for a ride and camp over that weekend. Three to four nights away from home shouldn't get me into too much trouble. The R90 has just gotten a new starter motor and has a few other things on the list to do. A meet up and ride with anyone from Melbourne direction heading to Betha...

Re: Southeast Oz gathering
Looks great Charlie, wish I could have been there. Ahh, those whisky chasers, just the thing to wash that annoyingly watery taste of beer out ones mouth :D See you when I get back mate, I'm flying out monday morning (Laos) and will be back early March. I'm going to try to hunt down a cheap Minsk whi...

Re: ATF ?
As discussed, they are all different weights. read these links for more info than you wanted. I think it is the centistrokes that is the important quality... http://www.transmoto.com.au/enduro/products/7799233/Comparative-Oil-Weights-Table http://www.peterverdone.com/archive/lowspeed.htm I'm trying ...

Re: 5 speed ribbed tranny rebuild
I'm definitely pro the taller 5th- I'd like one on the R90 and with the G/S final drive and 1000cc's I think I'll need one and wish for more. My 5th is mostly used for an overdrive gear anyway. If I start requiring serious work from it up twisty hills for example, I usually prefer to downshift and r...

Re: Starter's Dying---Rebuild or Nippondenso?
No probs Steve, and yes, damn cheap. When I was looking I am pretty sure I found other sellers on German ebay who had similar prices and would ship to Australia. It never hurts to ask them, as often I find they list that sort of thing but can and will ship to Australia anyway..? That seller I linked...

Re: 5 speed ribbed tranny rebuild
[ 6000 rpm for 160 hph Jean. 160 horses! Wow, I knew that RS was quick but... :D I've got a taller 5th I'm going to put in (pre-X) and bought it from motobins. There is a bit of hearsay that comes up every time it is mentioned on advrider about taller 5th's. There are different suppliers and differ...

Re: R100 GS Brake shoes
Gday Major, you might be right about 70's compared to the 90's... though from what I can tell, I'd include the early 80's shoes in the hard stuff as well.. I just think that original shoes, over 20 years old, still within spec, are wearing the drum not the shoes, and unless repair of the drum or rep...

Re: Starter's Dying---Rebuild or Nippondenso?
apparantly you can get them in Australia, though I am not sure where from. Someone on ebay used to sell them I think. Probably other places too. Searching by part numbers might help. I got mine from Germany- I don't know if it is the best place and I don't know if all chinese Valeo copies are made e...
