Re: New to me: R80G/S

Thanks Steve  I do indeed feel like a lucky bugger, but now a poorer lucky bugger :D Funny thing, all this over a big old heavy and corroded German dirbike eh! If I didn't buy it, I knew I would be kicking myself for an eternity. Had to be done. Charlie and Peter provided some much apprecia...

New to me: R80G/S

Time to share, about a month ago next door to a place I am renovating, I stumbled across an R80G/S looking fairly unloved. Didn't look like it had ridden for a while- last rego'd about a year ago. Left outside uncovered. It was not exactly the best time for me to start bike shopping again  but...

Re: Solo seat

The one in the link looks pretty similar to mine, though I agree, just a little different. I don't know though, I haven't seen the other one in the flesh. Mine is an actual original Denfeld rather than a repro- though my latest re-foaming of the thing is at least the second time it has been done, an...

Re: Solo seat

I love my 'original' Denfeld- if you can find one. Came as an extra with my bike when I got it. Had to repair the cover, strip the rust from the pan, re-paint and re-foam the thing. Looks just right to me. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t304/hansp77/Barry%20Way%20to%20Talbingo/IMGP6637.jpg http:...

Re: Low rpm knock

This thread has my interest. I am keeping quiet about the details (until it is in my hot little hands) so as not to jinx the situation, but there is an airhead I am just about to buy with these very exact same symptoms. Runs great however at very low idle (the idle needs to be adjusted as it is idli...

Re: Even GSPDs!

(I wonder if there is a plug-in for auto-resizing pictures?) Ah, so it's not just me. All my photos are missing about 15% of the right hand side. Could it be because they where uploaded when my screen was set to 150% view? Yes Tim, that is one of the advantages of using one of the outside (this for...

Re: Turn signal pods

Having realised that my first post didn't make too much sense I just had a little dig in the shed to have a look inside my spare plastic indicators. My thoughts were that if you had the plastic bulb holder with the positive and the negative wires (mine on the bike only have the positive with the neg...

Re: Turn signal pods

the aluminium indicators earth through the pods to the forks- I assume this is not the case with the plastic ones (?). If so, then I imagine it would not be too hard to modifiy the plastic pod's bulb holders to do the same? I found this out from one of my indicators that started to not work- a bit o...

Re: Keeping your hands warm in cold riding weather.

Wow, I had no idea how cheap heated grips could be. For the Aussies, here are a couple of local options two settings http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/T7GRHN0GH/title/torpedo7-moto-grip-heaters probably too cheap, with one setting (that could be DIY upgraded but might end up costing more than the ...
