Re: ATGATT
all the gear most of the time for me too. Jeans and regular work boots when running around the city doing stuff are my slackest moments. Other than that, full face helmet, beemer armoured textile jacket and pants (RP2), good gloves and proper armoured motorbike boots (bmw Savannah). I actually don't...

Yeah, K60 I am thinking, they look nice. thread degradation warning :D For the G/S I've got a whole front end (hopefully) about to be posted to me from Germany. White Power extreme 50mm forks, KTM triples, 21 inch KTM wheel, BIG 320mm rotor and brembo caliper adapter. It has already had the triple's...

Re: New Shoe-
We just put a set of Dunlop K70's on my mates SR500 project bike. They sure do look nice! and it feels like quite a soft sticky compound. Aside from things I have heard, I have no idea how they will ride or wear (its now running, but not riding yet). In almost standard bmw size they were pretty affo...

Re: R100 GS seat pan
As an experiment maybe you should try the little cold starting trick Charlie and I figured out on the winter Jindy-Talbingo run. Squirt a tiny bit of fuel (1/4-1/2 a teaspoon maybe?) into your airbox. Onto the filter element would be ideal. Let it percolate for 5-10 seconds and then crank her over. ...

Re: R100 GS seat pan
Hehe, no problem mate, it was just a small shaving, and this seat aint pretty to start with  yeah, I don't know much about plastics. I only know about ABS because I had to repair my busted panniers and that is what they are made of. So not being ABS, I would assume that you could most proba...

Re: R100 GS seat pan
Gday Peter, it was a long shot, but I just tested my 80G/S plastic seat pan to see if it was ABS plastic. Put a shaving of plastic in some ABS solvent and nothing happened. So, unlike my panniers on the 90/6, the seat pan is NOT ABS. Whatever it is it seems totally impervious to solvent. That may na...

Re: Broken Clutch Cable Story
20,000 miles is a lot better than the 2-3,000Km I got from my venhill featherlite cable! Mine failed a couple of days before christmas in the middle of nowhere- well, it almost failed. It got down to one strand, which I rode of for 60-odd Km until I could find a good campsite and fix it in the morni...

Re: How much does you bike owe you???
PM on the way for contact details Steve. I am pretty sure there are some Ohlins shocks you can get for twin shocks. At least I have seen them on some fancy airhead builds. I have to hand Krista back her laptop now, but when I get a chance later I will look into it. ooh, hang on, a quick google revea...

Re: How much does you bike owe you???
With the exchange rate at the moment, I am about to buy a top of the range Ohlins from the US for the 80G/S. (BM317) After discovering that my old Koni could not be rebuilt, I looked at local prices for shocks and it was pretty dissapointing. Then I started looking globally, Wilbers, Ohlins, WP, etc...
