Re: R75/5 fork drain problem. yikes!

ATF is cheap ,detergent, and makes a good flushing agent, both for the forks and the drive shaft were the corrugations on the rubber boot can hold a lot of crap. Works OK in the forks too, but a quality 5 WT Synth suspension fluid will work best. Fork springs work best if matched to the shocks. The ...

Re: How to Wake Up a 1975 r90/6?

Givi do a similar screen, the A210 which fits fits direct to the headlight bolts.
After widening the LH slot if you have the ignition switch at that location, of course.
Looks neat and works surprisingly well, as long as you like your head in clean air.

Re: Redline Heavy ShockProof Gear Oil worth the cash?

Limited slip diff oil is is high test tough oil GL5/6, as these diffs put unusual stresses on the oil , and can sometime be found at a remaindered price, as LSDs are going out of fashion. I bought a couple of cartons of BP Limslip 90 for $2- a liter when my local service station was having a cleanou...

Re: LED headlight replacement for H4

My BSA manages fine with a 110 watt alternator and stock halogen globes. But no heated bidet in the rear seat , or whatever it is some guys need 600 watts for. Headlamp performance with stock system depends on having full volts at the light, the quality if the reflector and globe, and how well the g...

Re: Wheel building.

If you follow the link I posted to The Vinagents Workshop you will see that Radco details a simple timber Jig that is used to hold the rim concentric and with the correct offset. With Brit bikes with single sided drum brakes, a rim up to 25mm offset and bent spokes of different lengths and angles it...

Re: Gen light

I think EME has one, including a harness which lets you mount out in the breeze, but there is static regarding Mosfett ? types which appently run a lot cooler. But they cost-----------. I have been running a $20- ebay knock off on my F650 for the last 70,000 km, but my electrical knowledge isnt suff...

Re: Gen light

Problem is worse on modern bikes with the small solid state style regulator/ rectifier as they get hot and the heat travels down the wire to that first connector. I have replaced them on every bike I have had , the correct size or Posiloc? has worked for me, with a bit No- Ox and adhesive shrink wra...

Re: Motorrad Elektrik Ignition

In the days when auto distributors had a click knob on them which let you change the timing one degree at a time, and no one had either a rev counter or a timing light, and rolling road dynos weren't around, all that was done was to set the static timing to give the fastest tickover, then take the c...

Re: Gen light

No problem with lights, ignition and a 300 watt alternator, stock wont pull 100 watts so adding 45 watts to the headlight still doesnt get you close. Heated gear, grips and a couple of non LED spots might, if you like driving in the dark on ice. Part or the problem is that the copper parts of the al...
