Re: To MOTU

Looks brilliant. Two observations. 1) If bell bottom jeans come back you are in trouble. 2) ill bet that bike is loud Yes, had some issues with bellbottoms back in the day - and I'd still wear them if they came back. http://i1009.photobucket.com/albums/af212/bmwr65/P7210008.jpg We have a 100db limi...

I'm a short arse, and have an extension on my stand that works very well. You can see it here - I put my toe on the knob and push it down, my foot land on the deck same time as the stand and I step off the bike...just like I have long legs. http://i1009.photobucket.com/albums/af212/bmwr65/P7210009.j...

Re: New suspension technology

I did that with my Ceriani's in the '70's too - broke a spring, took them out and used air. Got some springs made for $2 each and refitted springs later, but the air worked.... although it would end up collapsed after a few days because of leaks on the old fork legs.

Re: Tires

This is the 4.00x18 K70 on the front of my R65 - not quite down to the wear indicators, I'll get another couple of thousand kms out of them yet.

Re: Anyone want a VW powered BMW?

This is the only bad photo I have of this bad bike, a 1200 VW powered Ural with a Jupiter sidecar. 40hp, and the Ural made 36hp I think. A shitload more grunt - I used to powerslide this thing left and right in top gear, 2nd gear pivot turns, just roll on the throttle and spin it up, hardly used 1st...

Re: Spark Plugs

It's a Japanese thing, Denso also have the higher numbers being colder. I guess it makes sense to them, but it seems like saying a 10mm bolt is smaller than an 8mm bolt.
