have fun Neil I do mine every 10k on my /5 and do not remove the rear hardware but it is like working on a small car with big hands so next time I will do it Charlies way get to check out all to be sure. Im retired now so next time your make it down this way I can show you some of my favorite roads....

I have had a couple of bikes that I bought after setting for a long time and I have found that using Seafoam after getting it started helped. Then you go in and start the cleaning and tuning

check out 5/united on yahoo and Airheads MC Club lots of good info. Bought a 73 /5 that had been sitting for 10 years took a little work but it was all fum runs like a top thanks to all the great info and people out there to help out. Welcome

got too many 1 s in there mine was built in 1/73 dont think anyone was working on new years day and if they were I"m not sure if I would want a bike bult then "zu vilie beir letzte nacht"

Bought the same model 10 years ago after it had sat for another 10 here in Calif. Had to change the fork rubbers and rebuild the carbs the first year. after that push rod seals 8 years later. Routine maintenance since then brake shoes rockey point ignition key but not much else enjoy the hell out of...

transmission interchangabilty

Will a /6 transmission work in a 87 R80 my R80 has a transmission leak and I have a couple of R90/6 transmissions I would like to change out while the R 80 tranny gets rebuilt
