Re: Where is Duane?

I am still alive, for now. I will email you when that is no longer the case:-) My morning of confusion was quite serious. All tests were negative. By about noon I was pretty much back to normal, so they discharged me. Kaiser, in order to protect themselves from liability, are running me through more...

Boxerworks is up again, hurray

I am glad to see things are working again.

Been working on my website to bring it up to modern standards.

It will take me 3-4 months to get it finished, so please be patient. One can still go to my old site. It won't go away anytime soon.

Re: Clutch Pressure Plate - Updated

Hey Gents - I got to working on the "ol girl this weekend. I got the clutch "slot" screws out. I had do drill one out, the others required tapping the at the edge of the slot counter-clockwise until it loosened. Can I use the replacement clutch bolts (ending in part # 463) from MaxBM...

Re: Carbs mounted level, or tilted?

I don't think that it matters at all for how it runs. We always tilted them a bit for the reasons posted.

Your stumble can most likely be fixed without new parts.

Re: Clutch Pressure Plate

In really tough cases with those slot bolts, we had to go to extreme lengths. We would put together several socket extensions to reach well back far enough to use our hand impact wrench. The extensions probably totaled 4 feet in length. Then we would have to rotate the flywheel to a certain position...

To have those fumes, you have something way wrong. Fix it.

Otherwise, do wot Ken said.

Re: RT Fairing

We found that tilting the drill bit at an angle would often stop the spinning.

Re: Right side foot peg

New owner of 1972 R75/5 having trouble getting my right leg and foot comfortable. Hard to fully depress brake pedal, shin is banging up against carb. I fooled around with different settings but still find it awkward. Was wondering if anyone had a work around for this such as moving the peg outward ...

Re: Check this out! BMVW

That assertion is silly. No such program happened. I might know something about this as I built the second one in the USA back in 1967. A couple of hundred were built near Fresno by a guy named Willits or Willis.

I thought that I posted this a few days ago.

Re: I'm back with more questions 71 R50/5

Glad that you found it, congrats. Patience and research sometimes pays off. Few rider/owners seem to understand the why and how to adjust valves. I compare it to checking blood pressure. Checking blood pressure doesn't do anything for fixing it. Same with checking the valve adjustment. It may tell o...
