Re: Ever had a valve adjuster loosen in flight?
Must have been not tight enough because the adjuster was in more than the exhaust. All the nuts on my adjusters require a little effort to spin. And no, the adjusters are not stripped. Maybe revving it so hight provided enough bibe to loosen it. No signs of a bent valve stem and compression ok. Idle...

Ever had a valve adjuster loosen in flight?
Yesterday I had to pass a minivan with a WFO pass. Upon completing the pass, all kinds of racket from the left . Yikes. Investigating under the valve cover, I found 1/8" or so clearance on the intake valve. I normally try not ham-fist the adjusters to avoid stripping, but I guess I need to put ...

Re: Exhaust valve leaking fixed just to return again
You may have a warped head. Distortion from the warp makes it tough for permanent set even after a valve seat cut.

Re: Exhaust valve seat replacists
I used this guy. 3 years ago and teh seats are still in the heads so I'd say good work. Moved me to the from of his queue so that was helpful too. He does work on HDs too.

I would use and have used on other bikes , a ball hone...aka rabbit shit hone. Too easy to egg the cyliner with a bar hone or open up the diameter.

Re: 1975 R90 Idle Speed
With the info you've given us I would guess this is what has happened:
1. You tried to tune the carbs before the engine was fully warmed.
2. The tried to sync the carbs/set the idle
3. Set the Bings too lean
...just speculatin here

Here's my current stuff. Still deciding if the Guzzi is my cup of tea. I plan on never selling the R100. Guzzi rallies are not boring however and the Guzzi is a good ride for the slab.
