Re: Headlight Wiring Woes

Ok everyone. I got quite a bit done, but I am at a standstill. The previous owner's wiring is different than the schematics from Clymers and the other handy diagram posters referred to me (1970-72 50/5-75/5 without fuses). Here is the Headlight Wire Connector that is between a set of wires from the ...

Re: Headlight Wiring Woes

Ok will double check on the blade fuse and make sure it connects into the main power line, not for aux use- good suggestion. I was talking with someone and they said that if I had a blade fuse coming right off the battery's + (smaller cable) that I shouldn't need the to set up fuses in the headlight...

The more I keep looking at the charts while following on my /5, the more I am starting to piece it together. It looks li...

Re: Headlight Wiring Woes

not to sound too ignorant, but ifI buy a new wiring harness, is it basically a replacement of all these guts? I am not worried about the cost of the harness, but how easy it is to replace. Any comments on that?

This picture is of the starter/turn wires coming into the bucket. The wire to the right is bare. IS this a ground wire? Where does it go? http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/x446/khudson24/Slash%205%20Headlight%20Wiring/Starter_Turncable1.jpg This is a tan wire coming from a bulb which I have no ide...

Re: Headlight Wiring Woes

Unless, someone knows something I don't, I can't post pics by the IMG feature, as I do not have a website to upload them to. Don't see any other way to attach them to a post. I can e-mail them to anyone interested in taking a look. My e-mail is hudson.ny24@yahoo.com. Thanks again...

I do remember one day when I switched my turn signal on it started to smoke. I quickly turned off everyth...
