Re: Nolan N43 Trilogy helmet

I got the Nolan N43 helmet and took a ride today. The helmet is made well. It is a lot lighter than the Scorpion 400 I have. The fit is a little awkward but it's new. I forget how my Scorpion fit when I got it. I remember it not being really comfortable. The chin bar locking and removal system seems...

Re: Helmets- Use by Date.

for good, cheaper helmets, I agree with Scorpion. I have two, one for me, one for my kid. I've had it about 5 years. It is SNELL and DOT rated. It's an EXO400. My only complaints: 1. it is hot, the vents are not affective 2. it is heavy. My neck gets really sore. I just received my Nolan N43 today w...

Re: Tales in the telling and returning

I have insulated the connections and it is working fine but I've had the bike for 5 years and this hasn't been a problem in the past. Not sure why it would happen now. Perhaps it wore its way through the paint in that time? quite possibly. It's real tight under the tank there. Should it be riding o...

Re: Tales in the telling and returning

I might have found the problem, meaning that my bike is running fine again (but it was running fine beforehand too). There is a lead from the Dyna III tat goes to right coil. That coil has 3 lugs and it looks like they may be shorting out on the tank. There are wear marks on the coil body from the t...

Re: Tales in the telling and returning

I'll check out my Dyna leads. I found that the brown lead that goes to the coil may have been intermittently shorting against the tank. I haven't confirmed that it was the problem but I insulated it and the bike is now running fine. Both sides are getting fuel, good flow to the carbs. The scary part...

Re: Tales in the telling and returning-me too

This is almost exactly what happened to me today. On the 5 south in Burbank, the bike seemed to lose power like out of gas...full tank.. I'm coasting and try downshifting and popping the cluth to restart. BANG! smoke..shuts down again. I manage to coast to the side....no shoulder on the freeway ther...

Re: will start, won't start, will start....repeat

I hate the wiring diagrams and do better with circuit diagrams. I made this one that shows all the starter stuff on the R100/7. It is the bare stuff. It helps me to see what is going on. Maybe it will help you too. http://a1.l3-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/114/3d0ecbc23ff74d62aab28bdebed855f9/l.jpg

Re: will start, won't start, will start....repeat

Hi, No solenoid noise. I'll listen to see if I can hear the relay switch. The bike a 1977 /7 dressed up like S bike. The wiring diagrams with their great color coding don't do me much good because to PO resided the bike...poorly. A wiring fault it most likely because I have had to redo a bunch of hi...
