Of course there are a lot of variables, but how often do you re-grease your head bearings. How long are they lasing between replacements? :geek: I regrease mine every time I replace them. (tapered rollers) They will last years and take a pounding when they are preloaded just right. And greased prop...

As PAS already mentioned, check the fork legs for straight while the sliders are off. Use a piece of quality flat glass and place the glass across the fork legs. Heat the tube ideally, It will ever so slightly expand and it will heat whatever sealant may be in there.
An extension bar on your wrench will be better than using a mallet.
