Front brake master cylinder.

My R100RS is an 11/1981 build. Handlebar mounted master cylinder, 13mm, changed from 15mm many years ago with a great improvement to feel. The lever travel had diminished recently, but still ok, so I removed the master cylinder to investigate. The master cylinder looked good, and I ensured the hole...

Re: Testing the charging system.

Thanks @SteveD, helped me find a poor ground from the D- brush due to the cable being soldered too short and holding the brush off the rotor. Posts like this save a lot of time and money on troubleshooting and help us getting our bikes back on the road where they should be. Thanks a lot for taking ...

Re: Brembo caliper rebuild

+1 what Steved said. FWIW - my pistons were OK, but there was sludge in the caliper. Use only brake fluid to clean inside (some alcohol is alright but no mineral spirits, gas, etc.). I reinstalled my trans last week then stopped to replace the rear brake hose. I noticed the piston seal had herniate...

Re: Spark plug caps

OEM is a cap and lead integrated package isn't it. Maybe the failure was "subclinical", loong and slow and the previous carb tune accommodated that? Maybe re tune the carbs and see how it is.
