Re: 2004 R1150R transmission

+1 For the sidestand switch, especially if the bike doesn't jerk forward before it dies.

Re: Got Me A New Cheap Tent

Cheep tent? Can't get cheeper than FREE! Sometime back around 2012 I was fueling-up a company van somewhere along an Interstate when I saw something leaned against the next pump. It was a tent, mostly stuffed back into it carrying case, looking like it had been used maybe once. I'd guessed that it f...

Re: Engine guards for R1150R

+1 On the plastic guards.

Welcome Simon, and congrats on the bike! Post some pics of it please. I always liked the looks of the 1150R. Got to ride one once for about 30 miles; seemed light-years ahead of the airhead I was riding at the time.

Re: First spring ride.

Cheers Steve, that gave me a small chuckle as the climate is a bit different where I live. I'm looking forward to some rides soon too because the hot sticky summer will be winding-down and being outdoors will be pleasant again! I don't like being hot and sweaty so the summer is my 'parked' season.

Re: Too Many BMWs ?

I hope it brings joy to the next owner. My GS originally belonged to a guy who took super-good care of it but didn't ride it much. I think his wife told him to make room in the garage, can't recall exactly, but he realised that there wasn't much point keeping it and I've been really happy with it ev...

I don't know the answer to your question, but the project sounds really cool and I can't wait to see it!

Very few had the single rotor, and only some very early ones from what I've gathered.

Re: Wiring Issue

I don't think that the Mystic's wiring differs from that of the R100R. I had an R100R years ago and I customised it with the instrument panel from a Mystic. The two gauges, the ignition switch and all the lights plugged right into it. Different panel, same contents. Nothing else electrical on the bi...

Re: Motorcycling & motion sickness

Now that the coronavirus has sucked up all the international media attention, what's the state of things fire-wise?

Re: Motorcycling & motion sickness

I have never had any stomach problem from motion, but I do have circulatory issues when exposed to high G-loads, for example on roller coasters. When the Gs get strong either positive or negative the blood goes too much to either end and really makes my head hurt.
