Re: 1984 R80 valve noise. I know ...I know....it's been said

Another thing that contributes to noise is the rocker side to side clearance, not sure of the spec. Loosen the ends and take up some of the excess play, keeping the rocker centered over the valve. Torque the head to specs and readjust valves.

Re: BMW Concept Lac Rose ?

Nice bike ZM. Even in the lowest setting it's too tall for me, after researching it 1.6" is what you gain or lose. Being vertically challenged there are not many bikes short enough for me. Looks like the BMW F series with the SOLS option would work.

Re: Rear brake pedals

I was looking at the upgraded swing arm with the drive shaft with the spring in it. Seems that using this on an older model requires moving the brake light switch location and bit of bending here and there to align the activation mechanism. Will any of these other brake levers help in the change ove...

Re: Michelin Activ Size

Those numbers in front of the letters are load rating, but I haven't figured out exactly how to convert that to actual pounds. Can't seem to find a graph explaining it. 57 and 64 seems like it represents something that is something other than 57 or 64 pounds total, maybe it's per square inch which m...

Re: Correct Speedo and Final Drive but Speedo is off

That speedometer is correct for the ratio, here is a link to Snobums site with the info.
http://bmwmotorcycletech.info/ringgears.htm Maybe something is wrong with the speedo or your FD is mis-identified.

Re: Carb Issues

Still sounds like you have some blockage in some small orifice on the low speed circuit. You may need some aerosol type cleaner, like a carb and choke cleaner or the other recommended item and use a wire ( some have tried fishing filament) to push through the small openings in the body. Make sure ev...

I bought my unit a couple of years ago, it has one hole drilled through so it comes out each side.

Re: What is it?

I went to use this tool the other day when I decided to grease my front wheels bearings. Well after I removed the wheel and axle it wouldn't fit. I contacted Cycleworks and they came back and told me since I had a 14mm axle I had to removed an insert from the center of the bearing. They did tell me ...
