Replacement Fuel Pipe diameter

Can anyone tell me please what the correct INTERNAL diameter is for replacement fuel pipes on my 1980 R100RS.

6mm and 8mm seem to be the popular sizes avilable aftermarket. Ideally i want to buy some ethanol resistant pipe.

Cheers Darryl

Re: Bleeding Rear Brake on RS driving me crazy!!!!

I went through the same problem recently. After lots or pumping & bleeding I ended up doing what has been mentioned here. - Get the bleed nipple as high as possible - Wedge the rear brake pedal down and leave over night to let any air bubbles move up to the nipple - Then bleed the system again....

Re: Bleeding Rear Brake on RS driving me crazy!!!!

After reading this thread a couple of times and considering how many of our buds are from original English-speaking cultures, I think a LOT of stuff on our R100's are identified with the adjective "bleedin'". As in.. " the bleedin' gen light stays on all the time!" So the thread...

Re: Bleeding Rear Brake on RS driving me crazy!!!!

Darryl. I had the same problem after rebuilding MY R100s rear brake cylinder this past winter. I wore myself out pumping the pedal and reaching over the seat to operate the bleed screw. Finally I figured a way to wedge the pedal down (like tieing the front lever!) as hard as I could and left it. As...

Re: Identifying my BMW

Darryl, I have an old BMW book that lists your bike as being built between Sept 1977 and Aug 1978. (serial nrs. 6 086 001 to 6 095 000. These are European delivery numbers. It is officially an RS if you were in doubt of that. I also have a Euro bike (the R100s) , but it is older. It was built in 19...

Identifying my BMW

I know that there is another BMW R100RS site that has an inbuilt VIN decoder that certainly worked for me when checking on on my previous RS. Unfortunately, the only numbers on my registration document for my current bike are as follows Engine 6098130 Frame 6098130 and a physical check of frame and ...

Re: Crankcase breather advice please

Darryl - I think what you will find is there is really only one orientation of the reed and screw because there may be a conflict with the cover and its gasket. You wouldn't want the reed to open facing to the aft of the bike...the air has to turn 180 degrees to get to the exit point. You want a re...
