Re: Query re different exhaust pressure from each cylinder

I would have been very interested but postage to England would probably be crazy.

Re: Query re different exhaust pressure from each cylinder

Thanks Duane for your help. I had no idea that the silencer was going to be the culprit but seeing as my compression tester had not arrived I stumbled on it being a long shot possibility over a cup of coffee this morning . Seeing as it was such a quick option to remove the two silencers i gave it a ...

Re: Query re different exhaust pressure from each cylinder

SORTED!!!!! :D A piece of rusty metal had come off inside the right hand silencer and was partially blocking the exhaust flow. I had a feeling that this may have possibly been the cause so swapped the silencers over and the fault moved to the other side. Removed the loose bit of metal and reinstalle...

Re: Query re different exhaust pressure from each cylinder

You didn't tell us at what rpm you find this symptom. If it is idle, then it is interesting, but not so important if the engine is in good working condition. Check compression. Small adjustments in the carbs will make quite a change in sound and pressure. Do you do your own tuning? Hi, sorry i shou...

In addition the right hand side is considerably cooler. I have checked the plugs and they are sparking w...

Re: R80 RT Hesitant mid range

Many use the term "bogged" but I never figured out what it meant. Elucidation would be nice. I use it to mean that the engine will not pick up cleanly and smoothly, ( A bit like trying to walk through a bog, ie you make progress but it's anything but clean and efficient ) Hope this Elucid...

R80 RT Hesitant mid range

Hi, i have recently bought a 1990 R80 Rt that has covered 27k. The bike seems to start initially on only one cylinder and then after about 10 seconds the second one chimes in. After that it will start instantly and correctly BUT when riding it it seems hesitant and bogs down in the midrange but will...

Re: Heated grips.

DAYTONA Heated Grips are the only aftermarket ones that i will consider. Great quality at a reasonable price.
