Re: How to Wake Up a 1975 r90/6?

I would suggest dropping the oil pan to clean out sediment before running the engine up to operating temperature.

Cranking and running the engine for 5-10 minutes doesn't evaporate moisture from the oil, so it has been accumulating for 25 years making goop in the pan.

ZM, the assembly line safety man probably caught him bumping the crankcase with his hand and made him switch to a tap from the mallet. I did notice that the tap was very precise in force and direction. lol

Re: Oil Filter

Nobody has mentioned the high pressure relief valve in the back of the filter cavity. If this valve is in good working order, filters should never collapse.

Re: Wheel building.

Sure, replacing one spoke at a time is a way to do it. You would want to do a final check on alignment once you finished replacing the spokes.

Re: Motorrad Elektrik Ignition

Idle hang up on a fully warmed up (20-25 miles) engine can be caused by too lean idle mixture.

An alternative to pin lock and wipe on solutions may be look at double wall snow mobile helmet shields and heated shields.

Re: Can't get neutral when hot

Since aluminum (the trans case) expands (the case gets longer) at a much faster rate as temperature rises than steel shafts, the end float increases as the temperature of the transmission goes up. So its not your shim job!
