Re: Loss of compression

If it were me, I'd recheck my procedure for valve clearance setting just to be sure. Pretty unusual for one side to be fine and the other side be way off. Recall that valves are set at TDC on the compression stroke. Once you do one side, the engine must be rotated 360 degrees to set the other side. ...

Re: 1972 R75/5 ignition key hard to push

I finally got home and measured my R69S and R25/2 key...they're both 5mm across the widest part. I suspect that's not really the issue...it might have to with the shape of the cone which separates the contacts within the ignition. Not sure what to say either. Re: 1972 R75/5 ignition key hard to push

Maybe someone can measure the diameter of their key shank. I have a /2 key...not sure if it's the same. Not sure why yours is so hard to push in. My /2 takes some force but I wiggle the key as I push down.

Re: Breaking News - My Breaks Dont Work

As a final step on my /7, I pull the hand lever in to mid pull and tie it off leaving it that way overnight. This way I believe some of the bubbles have a path to work themselves out. Seems to have helped the past few times.

Re: Need clarification about Generator Light necessity

Pretty hard to attach a resistor to the thin electrical film inside the speedo pod. If you want to add a resistor for the same effect, do it as Snowbum describes on his website.

Re: Need clarification about Generator Light necessity

What you read is correct. The light becomes bright when current is flowing through the bulb. This current flows through the coil windings to give it an initial voltage/charge...I'm not great with these details. Once the bike starts and the alternator is up and running, it is self-supplying. Without ...
