Re: /5 timing
I can see how the height of the rubbing block would affect the point gap and thereby the timing, to a small extent. But, the point gap adjustment is approximately in the middle of its range, before I set the timing. Having thought of this subject prior to posting here, I could give this scenario mu...

Re: /5 timing
There was a bad run of points a couple of years ago and the rubbing block was found to be about a millimeter and a half too long. You couldn't get it timed and was all the way to the end of the slot. They apparently have this resolved now. Measure the height of the rubbing block and check against an...

Re: LWB /5 /6 question...
Hi Matt, I don't have one for my /5 and tried to use a /6 and it was way off. I do know that my /5 is a long wheel base, but I don't know if it is totally stock. I'll be sorting it out this winter. Hucky's shows a /5 box on the seat page and doesn't state short or long. Han's at Hucky's would know t...

Re: LWB /5 /6 question...
My /6 tool box doesn't fit my /5 LWB. I think the sub frame is different. The new R65 sort of fits.

Re: Gaiters like Germans. Not just in the Northern Territory
Those don't look like Genuine BMW gaiters!  Just make sure they are pulled down on the fork slider as far a possible, so you get maximum fork travel. That is one of the few lessons in life I learned the "easy" way... http://www.pbase.com/tomfarr/image/69009424/large.jpg photo ...

Re: Pulled Cylinder Stud
The Timeserts are much larger as mentioned above and I'm certain that they will work. If it doesn't then you can have an oversize insert machined at a machine shop or look at many other standard oversize insert sources. I would not replace the case. With very little aluminum left between stud hole ...

Re: PushRod Seal Replacement Cost
Thanks for the replies. Bike runs fine otherwise, but sizable leak from left PR seal. Exhaust is fine. Newborn as of two weeks ago and work is too busy to take a "break" to fix it myself. Chalk it up to supporting the local economy. That display at Atomic is nice; not sure who you talked ...
