Re: Handlebar M/C Conversion Kit for R75/6
Ken, I installed a 12mm MC on my R90/6 to the stock single ATE and got significantly improved breaking and feel. I am very happy with this set up. I used an R65 MC and an R80ST single line to the ATE. I was also able to use my stock two throttle cables and eliminate the need for the splitter...Jeff

Hudson, reread George's post slowly. He is right on the method that I've used for years.

Thanks Major; I was refering to cylinders.Major Softie wrote:Just to clarify: esman100's explanation is all correct, but I wanted to make sure you noticed that he was talking about cylinders, not heads. You asked about heads, but, like esman100, I presume you really are asking about the cylinders.

Re: nickel
It's called Nikasil and is a nickel carbide plating. The first year used, I believe, was 1981and not without problems. Re: Forks. How to undo those top nuts???
I use an impact gun with a socket that I machined off the end radius to gain more purchase on the nut. I normally work by myself and don't have someone to help hold it, so this works well for me. Make sure you smooth the socket end edges after machining flat to keep from marking the triple tree plate.

Re: 1975 R75/6 odometter
Frank, I have found the grey drive gear to usually be the culprit. I have repaired 4 or 5 with great success over the years by reaming the grey gear hole to a slip fit, +.0005" to .001" to make room for Loctite bearing mount. I then put a 1/4" ball bearing on the outside hole of the g...
