Re: A buddy asked me....

Hey Woobly, I've lived with roos for about the last 18 years. The were just a few when we first moved here and now the mob is at about 40. They're often in my front yard and back yard, but mostly in my top paddock.

A dual sport has no need to have esthetic value. It's just a tool.
My dual sport RS looks superb. Suits me.

Sidi Canyon.
Goretex, comfortable straight out of the box. Not clumsy with the gear shift.
Good boots.

Re: A buddy asked me....

► I'm all about defensive riding, so I wear Hi-Viz coat and helmet and ride a bright yellow RS. I also believe in headlamp modulators and flashing brake lamps. I agree that making yourself visible is a a good idea, as long as you aren't counting on it. The headlight modulators are very, very annoyi...

Re: Tranny output seal

I'd pull the flange again and make sure the output shaft spins freely without the flange. Torque is 163 lb. in my bmw manual.
Torquing that nut should make no difference to the free spinning output shaft.
Is the seal seated? Maybe the flange is contacting the seal?

Re: As my airhead gently weeps

Tricks? Not really, on your bike.
Firstly tho, wash the area thoroughly and then ride, and look for the first signs of oil.
It could be push rod tube seal, or cylinder base? or sump?

Re: LED headlight replacement for H4

I think you need a 450 or 600 watt EME alternator. Then you could also run a heated seat, kick ass halogen driving lights, and a coffee machine. What !! No beer cooler in the bags ? Beer cooler with 10 x 375 ml cans goes on the back seat, full of ice. It's a summer tradition now. Beer (Melbo...

Re: Oil in cylinders

If that much oil was getting into the cylinder when the engine was running you wouldn't see for smoke. I think the oil gets into the cylinder when the engine is stopped, somehow. A thread in ADV recently covered the same oil situation. I don't think a caused was found, but some interesting things sh...
