Re: Jay's test ride of electirc superbike
I just fine the dual sport riding position the best position for all types of riding. Better in the city, better in the dirt. The Zero DS handlebars are too low for real off road riding as seen here by an old fart wondering why there's no clutch lever: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-NL6v8Y9HiCE...

Very cool.
Some of the battery size/power/range/charge time numbers didn't add up, but I'm sure I just misheard.

Re: Bmw scrambler
What BMW and some of the other Euro bikes still do much better is the parental controls. With multi level traction control, wheelie control, stoppie control and lean angle sensitive ABS, a ordinary hack like myself can ride a 1000SSR much faster and safer than an R1 in real world conditions.

" Both models are equivalent in performance to Class II (50–125cc) mopeds and motorcycles."
Hence the light weight. At least the Zero has performance in the range of a 500 to 750cc bike.

Re: Getting close!
I was very keen on a Zero till I saw them at the MC show last winter. The finish was underwhelming, the bike looked like it was built in China 10 years ago. I had expected a lot better from a $15,000 motorcycle. The rep did say that the next big thing that they where working on was making their batt...
