Re: Cleaning Practices?

Thanks Steve and kmisterk. Those smugmug functions used to work fine for me until they didn't any more. The links would post whole albums. I persevered but got nowhere and gave up. Too busy too undertake sorting it out at the minute but I'll get there. Also pays to consider that there are pressure ...

Re: Cleaning Practices?

Thanks for that Kmisterk, I had a brief discussion with Boxerworks member Airbear about self hosting a few weeks ago. Is it easy to set up? Perhaps living in Australia is the reason a pressure washer works for me. It can get to 45c+ in my bike shed. That would help too. I don't wash it if I can't dr...

You can just drag a pic in from your desktop.
You won't see it right away, it will only appear when you switch to preview mode or submit.
At least that's how it works on my Mac.
Thanks Claude, I just tried click and drag from my picture album and got 'error-file too big'

Re: Cleaning Practices?

I used to post lots of pics here, until photobucket held all my pics to ransom, and then smugmug's linking features failed.
So now I don't use any hosting sites.
ADV rider allows direct linking which is very easy.

Re: Cleaning Practices?

If I knew how to post a pic these days I'd show you two how good a pressure washer works in professional hands. I haven't killed anything with a pressure washer on the same RS in 27 years. (I have other ways to break shit.) Except I blew the bullet holes off my tank with the pressure washer in one f...

Re: How does this Cold-Start/Warm-Up look and sound?

Ruff as guts.
Start with valve clearances, then timing, then coil/plug connections, then carbs.
One cylinder is not firing intermittently, at idle.

Re: Cleaning Practices?

My RS is always clean ZM, unless it's covered in mud. I use CT18 spray, and then use a pressure washer. I've been using a pressure washer for ever. Don't concentrate the pressure washer on sensitive areas like wheel bearings, and try to ride the bike after washing to dry it all off. Don't wash with ...

Re: Throttle feel

Wish I had the two cable system! Nothing wrong with what you have man. I could teach you a lick on those throttle cables at the carbs, they're easy to play. Helps you to know where absolute zero free play is, as a starting point, and helps detect binding cables. All throttle components need ...

Re: A Lesson In Simple Solutions

There is a recess in the cover of the 5 speed tranny that would accept the oil splash tray if it were longer. That means it couldn't fall out if 'the screw' was removed.
I wonder why bmw didn't make the tray longer.
