In the Santa Cruz mountains they are pretty good about signaling of predator LEOs. I was warned 2 times today

GSPD, his problem is the oil filter bypass valve. The most that could happen is the filter could fail.
You must be thinking of the pressure regulator on the front of the motor.

We had this same corrosion problem back in the '90s. We used Vaseline as a lube and never had a problem, still use it today.
