Re: DIY Type I Fork Seal Diver
The stuff looks like skim milk, and when you apply it, doesn't seem to affect the seal at all. Doesn't even seem to "wet" the surface well enough to do anything. But when you offer the seal to the hole and push on it, WOW !!

Re: Who runs early alloy wheels tubeless?
I have a valve like the one you linked to, but it is straight. What's wrong with straight other than air hose access? The stem comes out so close to one of the main spokes that it's difficult to fill with air. A flat spot had to be ground on my air chuck just to get it in there. A 90° stem would be...

Re: 10 best sounding triples
Those all fail to compare to the original 3-cylinder 4-strokes... the T150 Triumphs and Rocket 3 BSAs (1968-1975). Here's a listen to a stock engine with stock exhausts.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUX-I59Jbd0 They were very successful race bikes too. Here's what one sounds like in full tune ...

Re: Who runs early alloy wheels tubeless?
Thanks. Does it lose air? I have a newly powderoated snowflake that I want to try tubeless. This applies only to PRE-SINGLE SIDED cast wheels... When I bought the bike in 2014-15 the PO was already running tubeless front and rear. He had coated the interior of the rim with some type of gooey sealan...

Re: DIY Type I Fork Seal Diver
P80 is a like a synthetic rubber lubricant, but it evaporates after several minutes which makes it perfect for installing oil seals and such. You are correct. You can't buy it direct, you need a dealer and there are several on Amazon. Some might consider it pricey, but when you can install a $20 BMW...

Re: Who runs early alloy wheels tubeless?
Knowing all the dangers ahead of time... I elected to go tubeless on my 1979 rear snowflake simply becasue when fully loaded it's simply much easier to plug the rear wheel in place. The front wheel on the same bike a has a tube. But, I hedge my bet by watching the air pressures real-time with a Blue...

Re: Tank repair.
The shop I worked in coated vintage and classic tanks all the time. No matter what the brand of sealer, you should etch away the rust first. Usually a mild acidic solution works best (vinegar to muratic acid) left for hours to days. Then, add your coating to keep the rust from returning. These are b...

Re: DIY Type I Fork Seal Diver
If you used P80, then you could push the seals in with your thumbs and wouldn't need the tool at all.

Re: Tubes For Tires...
In the US, I've never seen metric sized tubes. They may make them, but since most of the need is for classic or older bikes, inch sizes are far more common. I'd think 3.00-18 for the front and 4.00-18 for the rear would be excellent. It's always best to be smaller than needed. Tubes will expand a tr...
