Look - it's been done - Mono frame, swinging arm and diff and a 3 spoke wheel but I have all of this and the wheel is sat too far over to the left.
Looking at his blog http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... .com&twu=1
he's reduced the disc centers thickess - I can take 4mm easily off this leaving it as 6mm thick.
The wheel is held on with 4 bolts with conicle seats that locate in conicle 'holes' in the wheel - beyond the bottom of these conicle 'holes' is another 17mm or so of material to the mounting face, I don't believe I could machine much off this.
Lining up the old mono wheel it is about 5mm off center to the left which is apparently the norm - so I recon I still need to loose some 17mm to achieve this with the 3 spoke - how has he done it - I can't believe he's running it with the wheel this much out of alignment!
How far off from the frames center line can you get away with an airhead?

Equipment weight of R100RS is 230kg, so weighing 55kg. In terms of dry weight, it is about 160 kg in the first half, it is lighter than a doctor.
How much does a doctor weigh, anyway?

BMW's spec for wheel alignment was max. offset of 4mm

That was issued at the time they introduced the 1.5mm wider spacer to alleviate tyre clearance problems.

My concern would be less engagement area of the rear wheel splines. Can't help reliability on a bike ridden as aggesively as this bike should be.

Great for maintenance and dependability.
Bad for tradition.
