Bought an 85 K100. Sat for 8 years in a unheated garage in SC Tank looked good inside , turns thru ok using 5 gear . I gotta wonder - it was not PICKLED prior to parking . Any thoughts on what to do before I hit the electric starter ?

Welcome to the forum!
For starters, I'd flush the tank and fuel lines and put in fresh gasoline. Probably should replace engine oil with new. Check coolant level. New battery, of course. If it by chance fires up, I wouldn't rev it much. After a few minutes of running, I'd change the oil filter.
No doubt the fuel injectors will be varnished and will need to be pulled and serviced.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Along with all new fluids, some people like to squirt a little oil though the spark plug holes before that first start. I don't know if it does a lot on sideways pistons besides making smoke at startup.

Those motors are pretty hard to kill, so just replacing all the fluids will probably do it. You may discover some seals aren't quite oil tight anymore, but, on the other hand, it may just work perfectly.
