My brother in law asked me if I know anything about these tents: http://www.springbar.com/

My camping is limited to sleeping in the back of our Vanagon so I thought I'd check with you avid campers. And yes Jeff, I know all you need is a good picnic table, but some of us are getting old.

They may well be "The best tent made in America," but I've never heard of them.

I'm familiar with the backpacking tent companies, but this company seems to be more into the heavyweight car-camping equipment.

What is "canvas"? Isn't that from the distant past?

It's retro, kinda like carburators and push rods and drum brakes.

Hello! Sorry this is my first post. I just wanted to say that Springbar is a fantastic company. They have been around forever, so you know exactly what you are getting. Plus, they are a US brand that manufacturers everything in the US. Personally, I went with the economical choice and got a tent from www.elkmountaintents.com. They are manufactured in China but the synthetic fabric doesn't rot. If price weren't an issue at all, I would probably have gone with Springbar, but so far I'm pretty pleased.

I like the AAA wall tent with double bed and pot belly stove. Just the ticket for the Alpine rally, and it should pack neatly on top of my RS.

Canvas, good canvas is durable stuff, but way too heavy for motorcycle travel.
