I hope NZ's economy improves, so you guys can afford some extra vowels.

ps: Thanks for John Clarke. Hope you don't want him back.
Certainly an improvement on one of our previous exports, Joh Bjelke-Peterson, aye! Have you guys forgiven us for that one yet?

Still miss John Clarke. We watched an DVD compilation of "Fred Dagg", his alter ego a few weeks ago. The DVD had some of his later stuff included, he's a very clever guy.

Actually, NZ is considering a military takeover of the West Island while your political situation is still in disarray. We'll have your economy "fixed up" in no time . . . :lol:
Ah, Joh. I still miss him. Gettin' all nostalgic now. No, not forgiven.

Like some John Clarke? Each thursday night he and Brian Dawe do a lovely 5 minute number on our 7:30 report. You can watch last night's episode on the Oz election waiting game here.

[quote="The Veg"]So that picture of me in kilt at Ken's got posted again recently... Anybody else wear a kilt?quote]

I have been known to wear one on occassion. I'll have to find a picture or two to confirm this. Until the recent move, I was a member of the Stillwater Pipe Band. I wear the dress kilt at formal occassions, the day kilt at less formal events and Scottish Games and Gathering, my band kilt (also a day kilt but a different tartan) with the band, the ancient style great kilt at Renfairs, and I do have a utilikilt for casual use. A very comfortable garment and it doesn't have the seam to irritate "the boys" like a bifurcated garment.

I'm Clan Skene, sept Hall.

This is our tartan:

Maybe someday I'll get a more traditional kilt made in it, but it's not a priority.

I haven't even begun to get Scottish on ye. Here is a picture or link (I should get one of them to work) to where the wife and I did our vow renewal at Traquair House in Peebleshire, west of Edinburgh for our 30th anniversary. We're the two in the middle.

I'm trying to find out something about my grandmother, who's surname was McCabe.
Don't know yet if she was Scottish or Irish. Seems the McCabes came to Ireland from Scotland.

I think . . .

Mac = Scottish
Mc = Irish

As usual, I could be totally off base . . . :?

edit: and as usual, I posted the above before I read your link. :oops:

That looks a lot like the Taylor tartan. Bright and cheery!
