Lighthouse (almost)
Lighthouse (almost)
Not an actual lighthouse--but a real Fresnel lens. The Coast Guard changed the technology in the Cape Mendocino lighthouse years ago and someone in the nearest town ("Hey! Ya want this?") scooped it up.
Fast forward to a couple years ago and the CG is all, "Well, we didn't mean to give it away. You need to take better care of it. It can't stay there" The result is that it is being disassembled this weekend and stored until a proper museum space can be built for it. Unless, of course, the CG can find an illuminating use for it.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.
Re: Lighthouse (almost)
You could probably cause pandemonium in an ant hill with it.
