Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.

Yeah, not quite there yet. The "40 mph" sweeper was a buncha fun at an indicated 60, but I think touching anything down happens closer to 80 on that turn.

The others were on a bumpy goat trail of a road. More about the scenery on that one.

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

Oops, not a surfing forum. The "40 mph" is on Hwy 299 here in CA just 25ish miles East of the coast. The others are within a few miles of the speedy one, on a road bypassed by the new highway. When I take my sons 'round the "40 mph" turn in the Kombi or especially the Westy (more power!) they give me a big "WWWHHHHOOOOOAAAAAAA" all the way around the corner.

So when ya take 'em 'round there on the bike you'll expect to hear a loud "faaaaaaaaarck"!

 , but no kids on the bike chez melville. When Mrs. melville is in a good mood as we go East, she'll announce the corner by saying "Assume crash positions." Uphill, the Kombi will barely do the posted speed.....

I am thinking that 40 MPH on that curve would be in defiance of the Dead Horse Rule.

The sign I missed last time up:

Had a great ride out there today--got 3 geocaches, including one FTF. One had been in place since 2001, up high on a hill next to a place that I'm sure Duane has been. Mrs. melville supports motocaching as we drive to get to 500 finds by Hallowe'en.
