Went chasing this geocache and didn't find it, but had this great view from GZ (for non-cachers, it's the spot where your GPS says Zero):

And this view on the way up:

I was up the same road last week, and it was in the 90s. This week, foggy and coolish well past noon, as you can see on the lens.

Bike pic is from the GoPro, set to take pix every 10 seconds. Even with the randomness, hard to find a pic that really shows the road. I'd be boring you with GoPro video, but we experienced some difficulty trying to enhance our internet service recently. Hard to download 900MB files through a DSL line.....
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.

Last ride of the year! Didn't get that geocache AGAIN! Think it's gone.

Rode the Forest Hwy 1 loop. Here's how things were at the top:

The snow is from the start of rainy (in the lowlands) season last week. In places it was onto the road, with just tire tracks to ride through. I probably would have found enough to force me to turn around just a couple days ago. It's going to rain later this week, which should close that road for the winter. Here's the feature road:

The rest of the loop is 299 to 101 to 36. 6 hours door to door, probably 5 hours of ride time. Frickin' awesome!

Changed the oil and drained the float bowls when I got home. Tank is full, stabilizer added. May 1 is the next ride!

I'm so jealous!

What do you mean "last ride"?
Just get some heated grips, vest and handlebar muffs and you are a rounder!

It's in my contract--bike to sit from Nov 1 to May 1. I'm OK with it.
