I guess you've checked out filters for chainsaws, lawn mowers, lawn trimmers and so on. Something somewhere will just fall into place, I'm sure. Good luck with it.
I was thinking of replaceable filters for respirators.

Like these? http://www.envirosafetyproducts.com/3m- ... idges.html

Thanks Airbear and Rob65

These are good ideas, I will check out both of those options. I want something low which has a large surface area, so both of these are suitable. My only concern is that the air exhausting from the oil tank might be hot. The tank will have a removable top plate, so I can always adapt or replace it as necessary. I'll get on with finishing the tank and can try out one of each of these filters - they are not expensive.
Cheers

Hello Vanzen

Long time no speak. Old Cro is looking great! Very nimble. The shape of that tank when viewed from above is special. Really nice. I am glad things are moving along despite the economic situation. That bike will be unique.

I am hoping for wire wheels on the final bike. I think there is a rim in the background of the shot.

What Sam said about the tank. Just lovely.
I wonder if it would be good to have a Performance sub-forum for folks like yourselves.

Sam, Rob's suggestion is a particularly good one. There are many shapes and sizes in the respirator cartridges and heaps of filtering options.

Hello Airbear and Rob65

I've been looking at filter cartridges, they look spot on. thank you Rob65 and Airbear.

I think I'll try either an organic vapour cartridge or one for dust. essentially I want to prevent dust or grit working it's way back into the engine. The filter needs to do that, but also physically withstand the temperature of the oily air coming out of the crankcase. It must lose a few degrees in temperature by traveling up the hose to the tank, passing into chamber 1 and through through the labyrinth (or mesh) and then venting into chamber 2.

I'll use a round filter as I have access to hole cutters and a lathe.

I think that must be a Jim Cray built racing bike Steve. Is it from England?
