If bbelk's version is what we can expect, I look forward to the visit. If DaveJ's version is correct, it cements my view that Austin is Sodom on the Colorado and I will avoid it yet again. I pray bbelk speaks the truth.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)

Yea Yea... in Dallas we ride our horses to work and keep our longhorns in back with our oil rigs.

In Austin everyone is weird, tattooed to the hilt, and hangs out (pun intended) at Hippie Hollow.

Come on Manfred, darkness is everywhere.... so is the light. Find that light!

SuperDave,

I was born in Ft. Worth, and lived near Denton for 13 years not too long ago. Maybe folk in Ft Worth ride horses to work, but Dallas is the bankers' town - none of them acknowledge being Texan - if they are :-)

Weird is OK - who ain't?

Darkness is indeed everywhere on the planet. Saints of the living God are to bring light - that is my call. Not to revel in the darkness.

And there you go, bring a flashlight ;)

Brad is a really nice repentant sinner and I'm sure his pictures of his house is closer
than my illustrated stereotyping of the region.

Now as for as 6 feet tall carrot deprived wascally wabbits Brad has running around......

.... I'm thinking you'll need more than a flashlight.

Manfred, you definitely need to get out more often. Yes, sad to say but it's true that @#$% Governor Ric Perry lives here in Austin. Save your prayers, we'll protect you from the Sodtinites. Geeze.

I look forward to meeting you guys. I enjoy the humor here. Been working on my brake cylinder - a small weep that won't quit. New O-ring and cleaning everything. arrg. Hope to have it fixed soon.

You-all are thowed off.
I spent 2 semesters at U.T., and 6 semesters at SWT.
Thank y'all for reminding me, and warning me, how naive I still am...
A game of 42 or 84 looks normal, though.

I am back from 7 days of heavy biking around Fredericksburg:

The roads are fantastic and for those of a mind too, just a short hop from the Rally site in Austin.

Image

Everyone needs to see Luchenbach!

And don't be chicken!

Come on down to Austin May 12 - 16 for a decidedly disorganized gathering of the clan.
