Cylinder studs and copper ease

Post by equipo5 »

Cylinder studs. Should I use copper ease on the threads in the cylinder block?

I inspected a couple of suspect cylinder stud threads by removing the studs. Shining a torch in,they seemed ok but hard to tell, so I cleaned the threads out with a degreasing agent before putting the studs back thinking that it might give them more grip. Now I am having second thoughts. Will that result in them seizing in place? Had a little search around on the internet and couldnt find anything. Any thoughts?

Cheers

If they're upper studs, they'll have oil pumped through the threads the first time you fire it up.

Lower studs are dry, but probably not to worry.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.
