If you didn't run off the road and were not hit or run off by another rider, I would say you had a good day.

Musta been a Winnebago just ahead, out of frame.
Sorry, actually just being glib ... for the sake of initiating a response.
The photo shows Hudson looking to the left of the line of travel, which, given good riding habits,
would indicate that he is still looking into / beyond the curve –
It is quite presumptuous on my part to assume that he is "past the apex".

A choice example of a fine machine, Hudson –
Continue to enjoy rounding those curves !
( next, I'll be bitching about all that 'gold' on your header pipes ... )

There are certainly more than just a handful of turns that are much greater than 120 degrees in radius:

Fortunately, there are many alternative roads in that "neighborhood"
which offer all of the thrills with less congestion ... and less Polizei presence.

What does the gold indicate?

Either the bike isn't being ridden hard or fast enough, the carbs are tuned rich, or both.

The bike may be running rich, probably is since my gas mileage is about 38 mi per gal. I have the mikuni VM carbs on it. never adjusted since I bought from the PO last year. But I also think it has to do with a couple exhaust leaks I had when I out everything back together after the partial top end I did, not to mention I found the exhaust gap too tight on the left and the intake tight on the right after riding about 100 miles since the partial TE job.

Thanks guys....

Hudson, thanks for posting those pics.

I have been thinking of selling my /5 to fund a newer bike. When I see pics like that from you and Tim and Frog it reminds me of what a nice bike I have already.

A "nice bike" as Hudson's, will give you 90% of MC thrills at a fraction of the usual cost.
Antiquated BMW machinery is a bargain-bang for the buck with some "style" – guaranteed !
One's need and frequency to negotiate traffic may be a proverbial fly in the ointment, however ...
