Has anyone had experence with the brand " Star Tron" gas additive. ( This is not a lead additive) If so, please coment on the results, better gas milage, better running engine, etc. I am thinking about using it in an 83 R100 RT.

Yes, it's an excellent product. I've been using it for about 4 years to help combat the negative qualities of Ethanol by binding the water and crap with gas to burn cleaner and keep from tarnishing carbs. It's very popular now in the NW with small engine shops and loggers to keep from burning engines.

So what do you mean by "burning engines"? I've been using 10% ethanol for years now in mowers, chain saws, leaf blowers, etc and have never heard of any issues with "burning engines" can you explain? Is this stuff any different than Sta-bil products?

In the NW where moisture is prevalent, combined with ethanol, you can get a lean fuel mix and burn pistons and valves. The commercial fuel tanks at times in some areas in the winter have lots of water. This stuff keeps everything bound together to burn more consistent. It's much more noticeable in higher compression engines.

My brother and I have used Star Tron for a couple of years now. It works great. He has a side by side and a couple of four wheelers at his cabin in northern AR. We get up there 3-4 times a year and never have had a fuel problem. He also owns 8 scoots and can only ride one at a time so a fuel additive is a good thing. I think Stabil has come out with an ethanol version too.

Jeff, do you have any preference b/w the companies? I read people arguing Shell v Caltex v BP etc and they all seem the same to me if I'm using 98ron.

Not really Steve. The more I need fuel, the less I care.
They all work well in our old bangers.

Jeff, whitch formula of Star Tron are you using. I see there is a Small engine and marine formula as well as an Enzyme and Gasoline formula.

I am using the enzyme and gasoline formula. One cap full per 5 gallons.
