Gidday fellas,

Well I finally got them on and yes I know I know some of you hate them and others think they are the bees knees, well I just think they set the ole RS off.. I like em alot :)

I got them two years ago off Mal from Dubbo and have had them hanging up in the shed cause my original lower fairings didn't have the "cut-outs" to fit the bars then late last year I picked up a cheap complete full fairing off ebay in Germany in the same colour as my bike just as a spare and today being the "Melbourne Cup" day off and our two kids away with their fiends, I informed my wife that I will be contactable via the bike shed and I went for it......the colour of the lower fairings match well I think, anyway here she is:

PS Noticed the hole in the left hand side one already, thanks Mal for that so now i need a big fat spottie to hang on there.

Visually, I like them on some bikes, and don't like them on others. They look good on yours.
The ones on my G/S are pretty banged up. Don't know if I will keep them or not.
At the moment I have got one original boxxy valve cover on one side, and a round valve cover on the other side. Can't even decide between them (I like the rounds more in general, but the boxxy ones sorta look right on the G/S?)

Melbourne cup day and contactable via the bike shed! LOL, me too.
Time to go back out.

Grant,
thanks mate,
yeah, I am trying to make it. Not 100% yet as it will depend on how the renovation I am working on is going, and also there are a few other potential problems that could arise. If I can make it will be only for the Saturday night, so meeting up early Saturday morning sounds great. Where is the meet up planned?
I am also going to try to convince a good mate to come along for the ride- John and his R75/7.
So long as the weather is good, I am planning on camping a bit lighter this time. A tarp and swag, the fishing kit, a change of clothes and something to cook on the fire for dinner.
Well, at least that is the plan... we'll see what happens come packing time and if rain is predicted.

Hanns,

SteveD mentioned that he might come up just for the day's ride Saturday, he has work 7am Sunday morning? so between us all we could meet just north/east of the city somewhere like "Healsville" - great bakery there!! 9.30amish - Just a thought

For the record I think the crash bars look great. I originally didn't fit them to my 78RS. After my crash and subsequent rebuild/S-conversion I bolted them on and I'm glad I did. More chrome bling to look at.

Have a good time away in the hills folks. Don't forget the banjos.
