We can do that here, on this public forum. Shared knowledge....you won't believe the encyclopedic know-how in the community here.

This forum will help with any questions...not specifically a mailing list, though. There is also the Vintage BMW website at:

http://vintagebmw.org/v7/forum

There is also the Yahoo /2 on-line forum...it does have the feature to have emails and/or digests (collections of emails) sent to your inbox:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/slash2/info

Does any of that help?

I don't think that you will do better than here and the slash 2 Yahoo forum run by Darryl Richman. Besides. of the several lists/forums, most have the same people.

Are you aware of my website for the /2? Go to http://w6rec.com/ and click on Duane (BMW). It has a glitch that I should fix, but don't give up, keep trying. Also try http://w6rec.com/duane/bmw/index.htm to get in.

A day by day history of a R69S restoration is at http://www.snafu.org/restore/ and very good.

You will collect 4-5 quite good websites that deal with mechanical issues. Others might do a good job of one issue, but start with those that are general.

Learn to use Google. Start by entering "bmw motorcycle restoration" or if you are having trouble with a clutch, enter "bmw motorcycle clutch" Nearly everything that you can want to know is already on one website, or another.

Full slingers, bad coils and the usual stuff... R69S had the rubber harmonizer that would fail. Oh... and BUTTERHEADS! What year is your bike? Love to see some pictures! Seriously, you should read Duane Ausherman's site. Plenty of good info there.

Nice link, Duane. I don't think I've seen that one before. That should take care of any idle time at work.
