They're Chuey (and Ed) approved quiet.

I read about another electric bike that was like the Tesla of two wheels, about 200 mph and over a 200 mile range. Probably not at the same time though. I think it was about $30,000.

The bloke that put a Vetter fairing one his and doubled up the batteries got a 500 mile range and with his super duper fast chargers a really quick recharge, maybe one hour ? He made it across the continental US in 4 days.

I'm half thinking of building a light and slow one with a Vetter style fairing to learn how it works.

Could you imagine the shipping costs to send one of his kits to Oz?

One would have to find several persons interested and combine shipping.

I was very keen on a Zero till I saw them at the MC show last winter. The finish was underwhelming, the bike looked like it was built in China 10 years ago. I had expected a lot better from a $15,000 motorcycle.

The rep did say that the next big thing that they where working on was making their batteries compatable with the the automotive quick chargers so that a hundred miles of range could be loaded in half to three quarters of an hour.

I'd lay up my own from foam and glass Rob, I've given it way too much thought already.

But, glass is so heavy. So many much lighter options available today.

I went to a wooden boat show down here in Port Aransas today. A wooden boat in Texas is a labor of love. They are pretty, but totally useless here in rough water and high humidity for rapid rotting. Comparing them to modern boats made of composites, with giant outboards may be a little like comparing an electric bike to a modern big bike.

The big difference being the electric bike gets better each year. The poor wooden boat actually gets worse as all the rot resistant old growth wood is gone.

And gasoline engines stink and are noisy!
