Re: Shift lever bolt
Thanks for the replies. I guess I will use it as it is for a while and when I pull the engine for slinger work (unknown past service) I will correct this along with everything else. It does shift, I just hate to mar the bottom of my nice shift lever. If anyone finds a trick let me know but if Duane ...

Shift lever bolt
I have the shift lever bolt in upside down -that is, it was inserted from the top and the nut is on the bottom. Duane on his site says that this can cause the lever to be rotated a bit and lead to the lever hitting the muffler clamp. That is just what mine is doing. I even replaced the lever before ...

Re: Hoske Sport Mufflers
You are so right. I really do not have TV so a friend sent me the recording of South Park. I had to laugh at the whole thing but that show is CRUDE! I have never seen "The Simpsons" nor any other "South Park" so I probably shouldn't be commenting on TV. I do however stand by my c...

Re: Hoske Sport Mufflers
Duane is right here. We are doing all of motorcycling a disservice by making our bikes so loud. "The Simpson's" did a very funny show on loud and rude biking. It casts us in a bad light. Loud is seen a compensation for something we are missing in our character. I gotta say it sounds great ...

Re: R12 and the most beautiful woman we have seen
Sure, sure, sure. Beautiful 18 y.o. Ho Hum. Now tell us more about the bike... Pictures? Was it a naked bike? Faring? Describe it in detail. We want to see it fully..... you know full frontal pictures with the headlight. Common, we gotta see more! I can't believe they would have it right in the wind...

Re: Oil and Slingers
Well hello again. I looked at what was available and tried to find out what is in these Non-deturgent oils but most now post or print on them that they have NO Additives and are not to be used in internal combustion engines! What are they for, oiling the wooden axels in a horse cart? FRUSTRATION! I ...

Re: Slinger service...... I win!
You were LOANED the Ed Korn Many-In-One toolset? I've got the wrong friends. Is there a way to even rent the tool set? I'd like to pull my R60 apart in May with the set, return the tools while I get the work on the internals done then rent the toolset to reassemble it. Who does that? I know its $222...

Buying from Germany?
I have a long list of parts, many cosmetic, for my newly acquired 1959 R60. I need silent blocks, all the rubber pegs, grips, carb kits, light shells, gas tube (on and on). I found <http://www.ulismotorradladen.de/englisch/englisch.htm> a parts dealer in Germany. I normally buy from someone in the U...

Re: Oil and Slingers
Thanks everyone I am glad I asked and I tend to agree with Duane...when the internals are renewed, and scrupulously clean and the slingers are empty I will look for a proper weight non-deturgent oil of high quality and with ZDDP and change it often. I remember doing oil changes as often as 1000 mile...
