/6 Starter switch rebuildable?

So I am finally dealing with stuff not being able to continue walking bck and forth past the bike without looking it in the eye. One thing on the list is the starter switch. Summer of 2014 trip across America, I was in Wyoming on 80 when the gen light came on and I got that cold wave pass over me. F...

Re: '76 60/6 - deleting steering damper

Thanks for the feedback everyone. One bit I wondered about during the exchange is, and this is not having any knowledge of what they look like or how they bolt up, can an Ohlins be fitted to the old bikes plug and play? I will give sans damper a trial period and if I survive, and without much loss o...

'76 60/6 - deleting steering damper

Hello hello good people. I am considering what the title suggests-eliminating steering damper on my 60/6. I am heading in direction of a bratty cafe kind of customization. Mainly for city street/beltway travel around NYC. Potholes are aplenty, but think I can survive it. I read Snobums article on it...

Re: '76 R60/6 - New Brake ring front hub?

http://www.vintagebrake.com/drum.htm When I saw that they "reline", I assumed that meant a new ring in the drum. That relining is making a custom shoe material. And they also reshape, and seems will turn the drum surface. I will bookmark it though for any shoe work I might like to do, than...

They do. But damn four wheel boxes have to sit for weeks piling up tickets for them to notice.

Re: '76 R60/6 - New Brake ring front hub?

Thanks, that's a load off my mind. Thought I'd be eating cans of tuna three times a day for the next couple of months to pay for something big. I'll check those shoes out and give the hub a good eyeball. But still I wonder-can a new ring be payed into the hub? I feel my brain tapping me saying Snowb...

Re: '76 R60/6 - New Brake ring front hub?

Hey guys. Yes to the relining of the front drum. That is what I want to do. And since either way requires a relace I guess the hub replace makes for an "easier" path. Thanks for the suggestions! What I am experiencing is what feels like a delayed braking, and what feels like a smooth slide...

Re: A Warning! R65LS rehab bump - The Man Canned My Machine!

In some parts of Brooklyn, it is known that vans will pull up day or night, two guys will get out and slip baseball bats through the spokes, pick the bike up and load it on, disappear. Or the less cunning youngins will loiter around a shop waiting for someone to make the mistake of leaving a bike wi...
