New Front Brake Pads Are Squeaky

I recently replaced the front brake pads on my 1977 R100/7 and they squeak like crazy. They are actually worse when not being applied so i'm guessing I have too much drag... Either way, should a little to much drag squeak like that? Also, can the drag be adjusted by the brake lever end of cable? At ...

Bing Carburator issue '77 R100/7

My bike was running just about perfect until i went out to start it last night, opened the left petcock and fuel started to POUR out of a small hole that is just behind the lower right corner of the bing plate on the carb. I shut the valve, went and opened the other valve and the fuel started pourin...

Re: '77 R100 High Rev at Start After Handlebar Change

Yeah well, I messed with it a lot actually. without knowing exactly what to do, i put it back together in such a way that the chain is extended as close to the cable holes as possible. This gives the cable the least amount of pull and when I turn the throttle, it pulls the cable immediately with zer...

Gas / Fuel Cap issue '77 R100/7

My gas cap rattles like CRAZY when i ride. It seals properly through the threaded part into tank but it seems like the two pieces, top handle/flat part and threaded par, are not snug to each other as in they move independently form one another. Is there a way to tighten the two to each other? Otherw...

Re: '77 R100 High Rev at Start After Handlebar Change

I did not have a chance to get to the brake over the weekend but i did go for a ride and noticed that after i put the lower bars on, my bike is idling WAY to high... Like close to 1500 RPM. Can I get some tips on adjusting either the carb or the cables? I did re rout the cables so they are no extrem...

Re: '77 R100 High Rev at Start After Handlebar Change

Ok, I'm going to take remove the cable from the master cylinder under the tank and re-route it. I've never removed a cable form the master cylinder so if there is anything else weird i should know, or expect, i appreciate a tip. I was afraid to attempt it before not knowing brake fluid would start p...

Re: '77 R100 High Rev at Start After Handlebar Change

Thanks for all of this guys! I think i got it last night. I re routed the cables and it seemed to help. I cranked her up after and she seemed to be running like normal. And no, I have never lubed the cables. I hear graphite does not gum up but i have never used it on this bike... Now though, i have ...
