Re: What Driving Light For Engine Guard Mounts?
I rather enjoy this sort of discussion. There is always the chance that I will learn something I didn't know before, so I would like to thank the main protagonists for the (to me) astonishing amount of work that must go into presenting these arguments. In my reality Ken is well ahead in terms of co...

Normal OIL Operating Temperature Is:_________?
Just did some carb. tweaking and putting new fuel lines on my '86 Naked R80. Started her up and did a quick warm-up at idle. Just for the heck of it - checked oil temp. and was at 80 degrees C. which is approx. 176 degrees F. What is the normal RUNNING temp. for an airhead? I did a search and didn't...

Re: What Driving Light For Engine Guard Mounts?
I've seen pics of Airheads with a large single driving light mounted on the top of engine guard. What are those lights? Look slick in my humble opinion. Might have to add one for my evening soirees. If and when you go to select your light, do keep in mind that the airhead charging system is limited...

Re: Front Brake Lever--Brake light stays on
Mine was doing the same thing. In my case, the solution was to drain and refill with new brake fluid.
The piston was slopping around in some goo that had built-up in the reservoir. After that service all was well.
Just my .02 worth.

My apologies, I removed all the junk from the air box and the shed fuel system. Got the 2 confused which at

Re: What the hell is this?
I am certainly a newbie with Airheads, but I think those black hoses run to the 2 solenoids in the Shed Fuel System on top of the motor. Most folks as I can ascertain prefer to remove the whole cracking system. I'm sure other more learned and experienced wrenchers will chim-in. Just my .02 worth. Go...

Re: I Need A Krauser Key - Any Tips Where To Find?
As mentioned in this thread I appear to be flawed in my analysis. My bags are the BMW touring bags. I found and bought a Key #055 and it did not fit. Crossed checked with Snowbum's site and cross-referenced the 055 key and may have found the proper key via Max BMW. Wow, and a whole lot cheaper than ...
