R75/5 Electrical Q
Was doing fine until… Now, when key's inserted---no warning lights, no start, or horn. But the headlight will come on (if switched on w/key). High & low beam work, but nothing else. Battery's good, charged, no corrosion on terminals. Figuring fuse may be? Looking for direction to start in. Thank...

Seems to work...
Just fine. True the brake shoes are slightly…different---in that they're narrower in width on the pivot side and adjuster side. Was easy enough to machine the new shoes to ones I had to install on the old 90S to match the ones that came off R100, so have full contact on the wheel drum. Only other th...

Can I use R100 rear drive on my R90S?
As my '74 R90S rear drive is seeping hypoid pretty badly, (fairly certain it needs a rebuild and seals, already tried cleaning out the small breather hole, to no avail) figured I'd see if the rear drive from my '83 R100 parts bike would work. Fits onto the swing arm o.k. it seems. Axel seems same si...

Update--What I ended up doing
Went with Shorai LFX21L6-BS12. 94 W/Hr, 21 A/Hr, 315 CCA, AND was able to shed 23+ lbs. of lead acid battery weight. From 26.5 lbs. on the old Odessey 925, to just 3 lbs. on the new one. Much smaller than the battery box and old style, so fabbed up an aluminum bottom for batt. box, used some foam th...

Lighter Battery for R90S
I've checked out search/old threads on battery alternatives and wondering if some of you guys using non lead acid batts long term have any feed back. Been using Odessy 925L's for years, and generally happy. But at 26.5 pounds---pretty heavy. And, thinking with Lithium tech prices getting a bit cheep...

Awwrite! Why I love you guys...
Thanks for all the feed back and info. So, yeah, got the later model spoke wheel that fits already on it (w/the /7 forks mentioned above). Measured the width between discs and exactly same as on Snow Flakes & my spoke wheel. So far, so good. Now, 2 more questions: -inspecting the forks from my '...

Forks swap-- ATE's to Brembo's---can I do this?
Here's what I'm wanting to do on my '74 R90S Cafe Bike-- Currently have the forks from a /7 Dual Disc ATE calipers & wire spoke wheel. I'd like to switch over to the forks from my parts bike, '83 R100CS with Brembo Brakes. It was fitted with the Snow Flake wheels (believe replaced in recall w/ g...

Where's it leaking?
Best I can tell from the vent thing on top of the final drive. I think. Had just noticed the other day gear oily mess on right side of rear rim, tire diff. Filler's and drain plugs on rear drive and drive shaft all tight and been a while since I changed, and haven't topped off or checked in a while....

Was worth a shot.
Thanks guys. Suppose I could try it with the rear snow flake from the CS and see.
Probably just easier to fix the leak and be done with it.
Can't hurt to query, eh?
