Re: Hoske

I fitted a pair some years ago. Sound is terrific, without being too load.
The chrome has pitted a bit.

Re: Electronic ignition on /5

Sorry, the Alpha ignition system is cam driven not crank driven. If you are replacing the cam chain/sprockets it’ll work fine. As Gibson says, it’s a massive improvement over the stock mechanical advance set up. Most of the old mechanical advance units are worn out by now. I’m sure the Silent Hektik...

Re: Can you tell what kind of mufflers

Quite by chance I took my mufflers to Barry Bligh at Overlander for a minor repair on mounting lug and a polish.
Barry proudly told me there would be no charge involved as he had made the mufflers 35 years ago and he was happy to do a warranty job!!

Re: Motorrad Elektrik Ignition

I thought you’d be happy with it. I put one on my Seibenrock kitted 72 R/75 a few years back and it is perfect. No twin plugging required. No pinging, detonation whatever you wish to call it even on 91 oct fuel here in Oz. I tried a couple of other electronic ignition units prior and they were flake...

Re: Motorrad Elektrik Ignition

I’ve been running one of these units on my R75/5 for more than 3 years.
Totally reliable upgrade, you’ll be very happy with it.

Re: New Camshaft 1977 R100 swap?

Hi Sam I don't know much about cams, but if you are thinking of electronic ignition, the Alpha Classic is a great improvement over the original system. No more fiddling with points and worrying about mechanical advance mechanism. The green Dyna Coil is worth considering as well. I have no affiliatio...
