Re: Oil leaking from behind timing cover on /5
I've finished replacing it. It looked like the old gasket had cracked. New one on and it seems to be good so far!

Re: Oil leaking from behind timing cover on /5
Thanks for the suggestions. I have changed the timing chain, tensioner, and seals a few years back, and will for sure check them again. I'm hoping it is just a bad gasket that is causing the leak. I saw Robert snowbum recommends no sealer applied to the timing cover gasket. Does everyone agree?

Oil leaking from behind timing cover on /5
I've got some oil seeping out of the back side of the timing cover on the right side (when seated) of my Frankenstein r100/5. I've started taking it apart, but am waiting on a rotor puller tool from Dan at cycle works. Can anyone think of things to check when I get inside here?

Re: /5 headlight ring tricks?
Ah zip ties! That is perfect. I will try this. Duane- do you wrap wire thru the opening as others use the zip tie?

/5 headlight ring tricks?
Does anyone have any methods of making these headlight rings staying on? Whenever I hit a bump the ring pops off. I've even installed a set screw on top and it still happens, but at least now I don't have to worry as much about it hitting the road and getting destroyed.

Re: Intermittent Ignition woes
Yeah Ken, I really want to like the dyna3 and the concept of better performance, but this setup just seems cheap and finicky. The fact that the rotor magnet set screws tighten on the camshaft point lobes, and aren't contoured to mate smoothly, seems suspect. If one gets slightly loose, then the othe...

Re: Intermittent Ignition woes
I spent 3 hours today trying to get the dyna 3 dialed in. The adjustment for the individual sensors are a joke. They need a screwdriver slot similar to the points plate, or a set screw to make fine adjustments. I would over shoot adjust one direction, then the other. Also on a test drive it died out...
