Re: Ever use water??
When Suzuki came out with the RE5 Wankel, I was at the dealer and he put a cigarette standing on end on the tank with the bike running and it just sat there. He brought the revs up slowly (to avoid torque making the bike move) and it remained there. No that's smooth! I like this water vibes idea. Yo...

Re: Shinko 712 Tires
Bit the bullet on a related item as well. I bought the Horror Fright tire changer attachment. I know many have said it is a POS, but, looking at the steel that is in it and with a sale price of $39.95 and an additional 25% off coupon, I could not buy the steel to make it for that price. And in conce...

Re: Shinko 712 Tires
Bit the bullet yesterday and decided to stick with my old ways and go with a known entity. Ordered a set of Pilot Activs from Bike Bandit. Pricewise, they are only a few bucks more expensive than the Shinkos. And it will also give me a chance to see if I like them enough to put them on my 305 Scramb...

Re: '78 R100/7 Side stand factory bends
Although I might get mud and worse flung at me for saying this, in my experience, the best side stand that was ever made and still is, is the standard Harley stand used on their big twins. It swings out easily, locks in position once the bike weight is on it. You could park the bike facing down hill...

Re: '78 R100/7 Side stand factory bends
Not sure why it took me so long to get around to measuring sidewall height on my bike and comparing it too the inch tires on my Triumph. Kurt numbers were confirmed by my measurements. Just about a half difference between the metrics on the Beemer and the inch size K70's on the Triumph. Just wanted ...

Re: Meltdown
I like the freeze spray idea. Never would have thought of that. My wife melted a heel on a chrome HD muffler. Lacquer thinner and much patience took it off. Don't think lacquer thinner will touch nylon, though. If the freeze spray does not work, try running the engine until it heats up the pipe and ...

Re: '78 R100/7 Side stand factory bends
I probably should make a sketch of the tool I used. It was made by some mechanic at Capitol Buick, probably in the 50's or 60's. I bent the handle and have made a mental note to myself to weld a doubler on that handle. I'm sure this tool was used in conjuction with heat to straight tie rods. But I'v...

Re: Cozy sidecars
That looks exactly like the rig that is for sale. Note the recall front wheel.
I need to find that thread.
Where did you get that photo?

Rob

Cozy sidecars
Anyone here have experience with Cozy sidecars? There is a Perry Bushong rig for sale locally. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob
