EBC Discs picking the right size

Hi all, wondering if there is some information out there for finding the right discs for a given set of wheels/forks. I think Motorworks have supplied me with the wrong size discs for my 1981 R80TIC. The bike came with spoke wheels and dual discs on the brembo forks. I ordered a set of replacement d...

Re: Siebenrock 800cc to 1000cc kit, is it really worth it?

Yeah bought kit (including pistons and rings) new from Siebenrock. As I said one piston slid down bore under its own weight, the other had to be pushed through. If yours are a good fit you should have no trouble. Oh, well fingers crossed mine are OK. I only looked at one barrel, I'll take a closer ...

Re: Siebenrock 800cc to 1000cc kit, is it really worth it?

i fitted 1000cc Siebenrock kit to my 72 R75/5. Not sure i would do it again. Pistons did not match cylinders. One would slide down bore (without rings fitted obviously) and the other needed to be pushed through. Siebenrock said they were "within limits". Crap. I had one cylinder lightly s...

Re: All parts BMW

Might be worth a browse occasionally. http://parts.bmwmotorcycles.com/ Ha thanks man! I was going to ask a question on the forum for bolt sizes, my most recent purchase was missing the bolts for the alternator and starter motor. So almost there. :-) Would be good to setup a list of bolt sizes, I ha...

Re: Siebenrock 800cc to 1000cc kit, is it really worth it?

There seems a bit of doubt in your mind re: the Siebenrock, but little doubt Re: Moorehead's approach. ;) I guess Richard Moore isn't well known...but you should have a look at what he does, he builds and races BMWs and has his own line of upgrades for these bikes... So I have to respect the man an...

Re: Siebenrock 800cc to 1000cc kit, is it really worth it?

Thanks guys, they are good points. I need to respect a lot of these old boys here in the UK as they do make some incredible engines, but at the same time they also run a business and need to make a living...so this is why I thought I'd ask on here... Right now I have a time constraint and need to ge...

Re: Siebenrock 800cc to 1000cc kit, is it really worth it?

Thanks Mal, well I am in a pickle now, running out of time (moving back to OZ) so will stick with this kit, call me a mug... :-)

I'll update this thread once I have the motor running and give you thoughts as I'll be able to compare my rebuilt 1987 R80 with this one.

Re: Siebenrock 800cc to 1000cc kit, is it really worth it?

Yeah thanks, I've not heard this, only that the performance claims are not as noticeable, some people on forums say they have noticed more power and one guy stated getting 114mph, others said not much of a difference except a bit more torque. Hard to translate what is real and what is placebo, after...

Siebenrock 800cc to 1000cc kit, is it really worth it?

Hi, I am just going through the process of rebuilding my 1981 R80 engine. I took off the barrels and found the nikasil coating in one has started pitting and also found a minor score on the piston. I decided to replace both barrels and saw the Siebenrock kit that upgrades my R80 to a super R100 with...

Re: Issue with gearbox or clutch seems to be slipping

OK, my cause is the Harley Davidson clutch perch... it doesn't pull the cable a far enough which explains why it was difficult to select gears when the adjustments were according to the Haynes manual spec... I could only get smooth gear changes when the arm on the gearbox was closer to the crank cas...
